The cast and crew were filming at Castlemaine pool on Tuesday with actor Rodger Corser taking advantage of the location and weather to have a short swim between takes.
Glitch is expected to air in 2015 and focuses on seven people who have returned from the dead in the ficitional town of Yoorana.
Far from being zombies, the returned people are their same selves but without memories of who they are and where they come from.
With characters coming from the 19th century, WWI, the 1960s and present day it offers an interesting new direction for Australian drama.
Producer Ewan Burnett said the paranormal theme combined with a strong cast and country setting was exciting.
He said Castlemaine was the perfect backdrop thanks to is combination of modern and historical buildings.
"It has the old and the new together and is a really lovely town to shoot in," he said.
"The topography and history in the place is great and it's only 90 minutes from Melbourne."
Glitch began shooting in Castlemaine last Monday with the old police station, town hall, the hospital and locations on Tomkies Road all being utilised so far.
"The shire has been great in facilitating things and helping with locations," Mr Burnett said.
"Tomkies Road is our favourite location we have done a couple of great stunts there.
"We're also going to a sort of Australian-Gothic look and Castlemaine has some really interesting architecture that is from different eras and has been ever-so-slighty neglected."
Mr Burnett hoped Glitch would be a show that was driven by emotional and moral dilemmas.
"We don't have Hollywood effects but it is a very emotionally driven show," he said. "There are a lot of emotional dilemmas and relationship triangles."
