Doherty's Gym Bendigo has moved from its old premises in Garsed Street to a new building in High Street.
Owner Danny McQuinn said the new building would offer members triple the training space.
"In terms of floor space and training space we are able to provide our members with about triple that of what we originally had," Mr McQuinn said.
"We were definitely outgrowing the old space. This is much better.
"We have effectively moved into a building that is second to none - something we strive to achieve."
The new business was opened to the public at an official event earlier in the week and was attended by more than 300 people.
Mr McQuinn said the new building, opposite McDonald's, had been vacant for about 18 months.
He said it had taken 19 weeks of hard work to transform the building into a state-of-the-art facility, uncovering old red brick and restoring life into the 1980s building.
"We stripped out about 24 tonne of previous building material," Mr McQuinn said.
"We uncovered steel trusses and red brick. It's an amazing piece of architecture.
"I think we well and truly unearthed a (treasure)."
Mr McQuinn said the business prided itself on its customer service - an asset which set it apart from others.
"We do truly love our members. We are interested in what they are doing as people," Mr McQuinn said.
"We are interested in what they are doing in life. We are one big gym family."
The gym is located at 14 to 16 High Street, Bendigo.
It is open seven days from 6am to 10pm.
Mr McQuinn said the public was welcome to drop in to find out more information or to check out the building's architecture.
