Police attended a report of a burglary at the High Street business shortly before 11.20pm.
A man was later transported to hospital with upper body wounds.
Swan Hill Crime Investigation Unit detectives and Charlton police have charged a 58-year-old Charlton man with burglary, criminal damage, theft and false report to police.
He has been bailed to appear at the St Arnaud Magistrates’ Court on 22 January 2015.
