She is part of the Country Awareness Network, also known as CAN.
CAN involves helping teenagers by running help groups, conducting fundraisers and raising awareness of sexual health.
When helping at the barbeque on Monday, Jeanett said she had “really good conversations with people" and enjoyed meeting different people who were willing to help out.
When asked about why she thought it was important to support disease awareness days, she said the days brought the community together and helped spread an important message about disease prevention.
CAN's mission is to foster appropriate, sensitive and accessible support.
Bendigo businesses got into the spirit of World Aids Day by selling products in reusable bags marked with the red ribbon.
