She is more liberal with the standing order that sends MPs out for an hour than a sunbather with a bucket of coconut oil on a summer's day.
Madam Speaker is well known of course for sending MPs - mostly Labor ones - from the chamber.
She has kicked out more people in one year as speaker than old Harry Jenkins did in three.
On Thursday, however, Madam Speaker outdid herself, booting 18 members of Team Shorten in 55 minutes. Her previous daily record was a piddly 12.
Why you ask, was there this sudden need to get rid of so many Labor barnacles?
Madam Speaker was certainly grumpy from the question time get go, complaining she couldn't hear questions being asked because of "that wall of noise".
"It has got to stop," she scolded the opposition, later observing that the behaviour was so boisterous it was as if it was the last week of Parliament for the year (not the second last).
And Labor MPs did their bit. Repeat offender Ed Husic gave a delighted wave as he was kicked out after just five minutes of question time. And those remaining continued to enthusiastically heckle Madam Speaker even as she ordered them to shoosh.
But were there other reasons having a dance in the chamber? The conga line of departing Labor MPs certainly distracted from questions the government would have preferred not to think about.
Such as, what's in Hippocrates' name is happening with the GP co-payment?
Treasurer Joe Hockey sat very still and stony behind Tony Abbott as the Prime Minister answered Bill Shorten's question on whether the government remained "committed" to the outrageously unpopular $7 fee.
"The government's very committed to keeping our Medicare system sustainable," Abbott replied as Hockey stared straight ahead. Further along the frontbench, Health Minister Peter Dutton calmly and methodically did his paper work, while appearing to ignore everyone else.
Later, when Hockey was dixered about "building a stronger economy", Abbott turned to look so blankly at his Treasurer, you'd swear he was watching grass grow.
You wouldn't know that Hockey had only hours before contradicted a briefing Abbott's office had given various media organisations about the co-payment being dodo.
"Our policy stands," the Treasurer breezily declared, leaving Canberra scratching its noggin.
Would the payment stay or go?
If only Madam Speaker could weigh in with her 94a.
There would be no confusion then.
