The Rangas belted West Bendigo by 87 runs in the opening round.
After West Bendigo compiled 6-99 off its 10 overs, Mandurang scored at more than 18 runs an over in reply in blasting 2-186.
After averaging 84.3 last season, explosive Mandurang opener Matt Giri smacked nine sixes and six fours in his 88 off 31 balls, while Geoff Thompson (60 off 22, six sixes, four fours) also made a half-century.
The West Bendigo bowler who felt the full brunt of the Rangas’ onslaught was captain Joel Purdy, whose one over went for 36.
Earlier, opener Travis O’Connell scored 52 for the Redbacks after they won the toss and batted first.
• Golden Gully openers Nathan Hamblin and Matt Kile scored a pair of half-centuries in the Cobras’ winning score of 6-162 against Strathfieldsaye.
Hamblin crunched 69 and Kile 59.
Strathfieldsaye was restricted to 3-89 in reply with Mark Nilon (28) top-scoring.
• Marong hasn’t won a game in the season-proper, but started its Bash for Cash campaign with a victory over last season’s runners-up, United.
Jeremy Ross (37) was the best of the Panthers’ batsmen in Marong’s 6-111 after it was sent in at OTH Oval.
United fell 12 runs short in its chase when it was held to 7-99.
Opener Blair Holmes (47) led the Tigers’ innings.
• Like Marong, Maiden Gully also tasted its first victory of the season with a comfortable win over Axe Creek.
Opener Simon Cole (73) was in fine form as he helped Maiden Gully to 4-117.
Axe Creek never threatened to chase the score down when it quickly slumped to 6-22 before being bowled out for 66.
• Sedgwick proved far too strong for Spring Gully, winning by 62 runs.
Damien Coppock’s 50 helped the Rams to 6-139.
Spring Gully was dismissed in the eighth over in reply for 77, with opener Ryan Pedrotti (37) scoring the bulk of the Crows’ runs.
