SUPERB feats off the diving board have earned Maiden Gully's Abby Rowley the Bendigo Sportsmen's Associaton's Junior Sports Star of the Year award.
Rowley was a finalist for the prestigious award along with swimmer Callum Moloney, tennis ace Isaac Watson and baseballer Lachlan Jack.
The awards presentation was held on Wednesday night at Kangaroo Flat Sports Club.
Special guests for the event, which doubled as the BSA's Christmas function were ultra-marathon runners David Eadie and Nikki Wynd.
Rowley's year included two silver medals at the School Sport Australia national diving championships.
She was the outright winner of the 14-15 years group at the Pullar Family Championships in Melbourne and earlier in the year was named the Australian Diver of the Year in the 12-13 years class.
Coached by Heather Tyter at Bendigo Divers, Rowley has excelled in 1m and 3m springboard and 10m platform events.
She will be putting in many hours to prepare for national titles.
The BSA's Junior Sports Star of the Year award is proudly supported by Coca-Cola and Bendigo Bank.
Quarterly winners receive cash to help toward accommodation, travel, or other costs associated with their sporting pursuits.
