POLICE have arrested a man in relation to outstanding warrants on a separate matter after an altercation near Bendigo railway station earlier today.

Sergeant Greg Gentry said the 31-year-old man was initially taken via ambulance to Bendigo Health for treatment of a suspected fractured arm after an altercation between the man and unknown persons near the railway station about 4pm.
Police arrested the man over the outstanding warrants after he left the hospital, refusing treatment.
Sergeant Gentry said the man would be subject to an after-hours bail remand application for the outstanding warrants and may appear in Bendigo Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Sergeant Gentry said no witnesses to the altercation had come forward as yet.
