Dob in a Dealer, a partnership between Crime Stoppers and Victoria Police, will call on residents of the City of Greater Bendigo, and Campaspe, Central Goldfields, Mt Alexander, Macedon Ranges and Loddon shires to report any information related to the trafficking or manufacturing of methamphetamines or ice.
The operation was piloted in Warrnambool in February last year, producing positive results.
Crime Stoppers chief executive Samantha Hunter said the campaign encouraged the community to be 'part of the solution' in addressing drug activity.
"We are asking the community to call Crime Stoppers about any information they might have about people bringing amphetamines or manufacturing amphetamines. We will confidentially pass that information to Victoria Police for investigation," she said.
"This campaign will happen across regional Victoria and what we are doing is working closely with police to identify where the issues are and where we are best able to place resources at any time to maximise the impact for Victoria Police on the information the community provides."
Ms Hunter said Crime Stoppers received more than 89,000 community reports of crime last year and the reporting of a crime or suspicious behaviour was completely confidential.
"There is no caller ID, we have no ability to trace any online reports. It is completely secure. We don't pass any information that may identify a caller onto Victoria Police," she said.
"Ice is an issue of concern for the community and we are here to help the community by providing them with a confidential way to report that."
The campaign will operate until December 8.
