Bendigo-born Rhein Gibson dropped to two-under and equal 20th after 74 in Friday's play.
Neangar Park's Andrew Martin is on par after rounds of 71 and 73.
Ravenswood amateur Lucas Herbert struck back from plus-three on day one to fire a round of two-under and be at +1 on the leaderboard.
The Masters is led by Queensland's Michael Wright on nine-under from Paul Spargo -7, with amateur Todd Sinnott and Richard Green a shot further back in the chase.
