A LETTER to our past and present councillors, the executive of the Bendigo football league and to the Bendigo community. Ninety-eight per cent of you believed that having a VFL club in Bendigo was a waste of time. That it wasn't worth the time and money spent to run, and that the people and players involved would get nothing out of it.

For the past two years all those involved busted a gut (especially Tim Dickson and Aussie Jones) to give young footballers in the Bendigo region a pathway to the second best football competition in the country, the VFL. It allowed these kids to play against AFL listed players, and test themselves.
However, our club is gone, and will never be again.
The good news that we can take out of it is that so far there are at least half a dozen from the Bendigo list already signed up at other clubs, including Geelong, Richmond, Essendon as well as Port Melbourne and Werribee.
So to all of you who said it was a waste of time: you were all wrong.
