He first joined when he was aged 15 in New South Wales. Four years ago Mr Bock moved to central Victoria and became a member of the Strathfieldsaye Lions Club.
The Strathdale resident said he loved helping out with the various fundraisers.
Last weekend he spent time at the Bendigo National Swap Meet. His role included helping to park the cars.
"It's really great. We get to raise money and help people," Mr Bock said.
"I have also made some really good mates."
Mr Bock said people with a keen desire to help the community and make a difference should volunteer.
"By all means join - it's a good outlet for sharing friendships with people," he said.
When Mr Bock isn't tied up volunteering with the Strathfieldsaye Lions Club, he helps out as secretary of the National Historical Machinery Association.
"It definitely keeps me busy," Mr Bock said.
