KANGAROO Flat: More than 60 parishioners and guests enjoyed a great night of fellowship on Friday, November 14, at the Parish Christmas Dinner organised by the Tuesday Fellowship Group.
The meal with a delicious range of salads followed by a choice of four desserts was catered by Fabulous Feasts. And it certainly was a fabulous feast. Thanks to the team who organised this great event.
It’s been encouraging to see the way the congregation has adapted to having two services each Sunday, at 9am and 11am. Since starting them four weeks ago we have nearly doubled our attendance.
The joint fellowship between services is increasing as those at the early service stay a little bit longer and those attending the later service arrive a little bit earlier. We particularly encourage this on Sunday, November 30, as to celebrate the beginning of Advent all parishioners are invited to decorate St Mary’s Christmas tree between 10.10am and 10.50am.
For information, visit http://stmaryskangarooflat.com/ or find us on Facebook.
St Paul’s: This Sunday is the Feast of Christ the King. The imagery of the exalted Christ seated at God’s right hand in glory comes from Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. Whilst Christ, the King of Glory, is seated with God, he is also present among us and in us. When we live in the light of the Gospel, we are living as Christ’s very presence in the world, in all his sovereign power.
Services are 8am – said Eucharist; 9.30am – choral Eucharist; and 11am celebration Eucharist with children’s church.
For more details, go to www.stpaulsbendigo.org.au or find us on Facebook.
South East: Coming up is the opportunity to purchase “Really Useful Gifts” through the parish once again. Instead of scratching your head to find the perfect gift, take an envelope off the tree and fulfil our Lord’s second great commandment: Love your neighbour as you love yourself. You will serve your neighbours in lands near and far, offering life, safety, education and security – all that we take for granted.

Oasis Christian Church
LAST Sunday the congregation received an insightful message from Pastor Samuel Tshisekedi as to why God’s first commandment to His people is to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength as described in Mark 12:28-30.
When someone objects to God, you find they have the wrong definition of Him. He is the creator of the universe, space, time, matter, galleries and everything. God is outside this, He is Spirit. God is Love, all wise, all knowing, just in power and authority and once we realise this, God is worthy of our love.
Love is not that warm, fuzzy feeling; it is not pity, charity or mercy. Love is action flowing out in all of these characteristics.
Jesus Christ paid the price for mankind. Only when we understand justice, we understand the price paid for the restoration of God’s Love, protection and wholeness in Him.
Services are on Sundays at 10am at the Long Gully Community Centre, 27 Havilah Road, Bendigo. Inquiries to 5443 1468 or 0402 087 083.

Eaglehawk: “Remember your beginning”, Hebrews 10 V32-34, was Pastor Steven’s address last Sunday.
There is a joy unspeakable of being a follower of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, but let us not be complacent – Satan lurks everywhere. Our Christian walk is one of faith; there are many trials as well as many days of joy.
We must not backslide, putting Christ Jesus to one slide while accepting the pleasures of this world. This is what is happening today. Churches are nearly empty, even being sold – we have prospered greatly, so who needs God? The believer needs to be aware of the dangers; remember, God will not be mocked. There are two worlds, one where the Christian stands, God’s world, where there is peace for the troubled soul, the other where there is no satisfaction, people always wanting more, no real happiness. If we take our eyes off Jesus we will fall. We must remember our beginning when Jesus called us and we answered “yes, we will follow you”.
This Sunday, worship service will be at 10am. On Wednesday, November 26, the 9am weekly prayer meeting will be followed by Bible study at 10.30am.
All inquiries to Pastor Steven on 0408 990 903.
St John’s: At St John’s last Sunday, the Reverend Philip Burns continued his sermon series from 1Peter, preaching from chapter 1 verses 5-9.
Peter reminds his readers that though the inheritance of heaven will be kept for them and they will be kept by God for it, life on Earth is not heaven. Our journey to heaven involves experiencing trials of many kinds that God has designed for the purifying of our faith and so that at the end of the journey, a greater measure of joy will await those who endure.

On Sunday Pastor Peter preached on “Who is Watching?”
Ezekiel saw in the vision he was given, that the rims of the wheels were full of eyes. Later it refers to again the number of eyes covering the creatures. These visions are repeated in Revelations . The numerous “eyes” refer to the fact that God is always watching his people. He loves and watches over us. He also can see where we go wrong and commit sin.
The dark, the clouds, the storms do not prevent him from seeing all things at all times. We are “the apple of his eye” and he loves us.
