Athletics Bendigo teamed up with Victorian Masters Athletics to run track and field competition at the Latrobe University Bendigo athletics complex in Retreat Road.
The Retreat Road-based track is where Petrie and many other Masters athletes starred last January.
On Tuesday night, Petrie achieved a time of 12:52.03 in the 3000m run.
The 71-year-old from Kilsyth achieved 102.73% in age gradings.
Petrie was the only competitor to surpass 100 in the age gradings at this competition.
There were 40 starters in the 3km event.
Earlier in the year, Petrie broke the world record for her age group in the 21.1km half-marathon run on the final day of the Oceania Masters in Bendigo.
In the past 18 months she has broken world age group records from 1500m up to 21.1km.
There were many superb feats at Tuesday's night meet.
Bendigo University's Mike Bieleny won the 3000m in 10:08.27.
The time for Bieleny, 51, was 82.7 in the age grading percentages.
Runner-up in the 3000m was South Bendigo's Daniel Plowright in 10:21.31, ahead of Bendigo Harriers Peter Cowell, 10:22.40.
Cowell, 51, achieved an age grading of 80 per cent.
In the women's 100m, Eaglehawk's Toni Phillips was second in 14.93. The time for the 42-year-old was 73 per cent in age gradings.

The track and field action drew competitors across a wide age spectrum.
