The Cats are chasing a replacement for Adrian Dohnt, who this year led the club to its fourth senior flag in a row.
“We haven’t made an appointment yet, but we expect to make one very soon,” LBU president Stephen Randall said on Saturday.
Leitchville-Gunbower, beaten in this year’s preliminary final by the Cats, is also hopeful of closing in on its replacement for the outgoing Marty Shadbolt.
The Bombers have confirmed four losses from this year - Russell Lee, Brad Perry and Ryan Hocking, who have all gone to Lancaster in the Kyabram District Football League, and Jake Williams.
Lee will coach Lancaster.
Fellow HDFL clubs Huntly (Jamie Hogan) and Heathcote (Paul Kennedy) have already appointed new coaches for the 2015 season.
