From the French Caribbean islands of Guadelope, Ms Serichard is a relatively recent arrival to Castlemaine, where she is a French teacher’s aide at the secondary college.
She attended the show with friends Chris Wilson and Cathy Boerema and was keen to experience everything on offer.
“It’s really different to what I can see at home because we don’t have such a thing for Halloween – we don’t celebrate Halloween,” she said.
“I am really happy to be here.
“It sounds like there is plenty for us to do.”
Ms Serichard will spend a further four months in Castlemaine before heading home. She hopes to return one day.
For now, she could not speak highly enough of life in her current hometown.
“It is a very good town – very cultural and artistic,” she said.
“There are a lot of things going on the weekends.
“Every night there seems to be something going on town, I really like that.”
