Bailey, who had Dravet Syndrome, passed away in 2012.
About 26 riders will take part in Bays Ride, with the main event a 410 kilometre cycle from Mildura to Echuca next weekend.
Roger Fuller, Bailey's dad, said his son's illness meant the family had spent many nights in hospital. He said the ride would raise money for Bendigo Health.
"In the past other teams have raised funds for the special development school in Bendigo. This time we are trying to raise money for the Bendigo Health Foundation so that they can purchase chairs which convert to beds for parents to sleep beside their children while in hospital.
"It is hard enough for the kids to be in hospital, then their parents have to sleep on chairs. We want to make it that bit easier and do something to help out the community directly."
Mr Fuller said he hoped to raise $20,000 to purchase four beds.
"The support from Bendigo businesses has been unreal. I don't know what we would have done without it," Mr Fuller said.
