There is just one day left to sign up for the event, which will raise money for the renal dialysis unit at Bendigo Health. 

Last year's registrations totalled 2991, with organisers predicting there would be more this year.

Sunday's fun run boasts a new course, with participants set to take their marks in front of the Bendigo Visitor Information Centre in Pall Mall before completing an inner city course of five, 10 or 15 kilometres. 

All participants will receive a gold medal at the finish line and the chance to enjoy a free healthy breakfast. 

Bendigo Health Foundation events co-ordinator Kiri Earl said prior to the start of each race fitness instructors from Fit Republic would conduct a warm up at Sidney Myer Place in Bendigo.  

"The atmosphere will be incredible, very carnival-like. We are encouraging everyone to sign up," she said.

Ms Earl said weather conditions were shaping up to be "perfect", with a top of 19 degrees forecast for the city on Sunday. She said the event was Bendigo Health's biggest annual fundraiser, raising more than $100,000 each year. 

She said it was also about promoting health and fitness.

Runners are being encouraged to start hydrating ahead of the big event.  

Participants who have registered online but have not received their race packs can do so at Bendigo Bank's central branch near The Exchange on Saturday from 9am to 11.30am.

A list of results from the event will be published on the Bendigo Advertiser website from 2pm on Sunday and in its Monday edition of the newspaper.

People can register either as individuals or part of a team with family, friends or work mates.

Ms Earl said the Salvation Army would set up collection bins for anyone who wanted to donate their old jumpers prior to each race.
