NETBALL Victoria has announced the 2015 Netball Victoria State Titles will take place in Bendigo.
The titles, set to mark its 30th anniversary, will be played at the Golden City Netball courts, on October 10 and 11 next year.
Netball Victoria CEO Michelle Plane said it was exciting to host the tournament in one of the strongest regional centres.
"The Netball Victoria State Titles provide a fantastic opportunity for all 19 regions in Victoria to come together and compete against the best netballers in the state," she said.
North Central Open coach Jannelle Hobbs said netball in the region was getting stronger and having the titles in Bendigo would be a chance to continue to grow the sport.
"It is absolutely fantastic for netball in our region to have this competition," she said.
"It gives all our athletes the chance to play at that high level in their home town.
North Bendigo sharp shooter and member of the North Central team Rebecca Smith said she was looking forward to the titles.
"It will bring a lot of interest to netball in the region," she said.
"It is going to show what Bendigo has, in terms of the players we have here.
"Hopefully it will entice some more players to take part and try out."
About 52 teams across 16 regions took part in this year's tournament.
City of Greater Bendigo mayor Barry Lyons said he was thrilled the titles were headed to Bendigo.
"This is an outstanding event to win and it speaks volumes about Bendigo's growing reputation, ability and capacity to host important netball events," he said.
