Tech schools should never have been closed in the first place.
Also, the age of students leaving schools in order to take up an apprenticeship should not have been raised.
I have been a teacher for more than 10 years and I have come across students who simply do not wish to be at school. They would rather be doing an apprenticeship.
It is unfair that they have to slog it out doing subjects they hate and thus being disruptive in class because they cannot handle the work.
They should be allowed to leave at the age of 15 to pursue their dreams of being an apprentice.
It is good to see that Kalianna won't be forgotten under a Labor government.
The students there deserve a good education just like students in a mainstream school.
