More than 15,000 people streamed through the gates if the Bendigo Showgrounds on Friday and Saturday.
Bendigo Agricultural Show Society secretary Rod Bowles said the increase was only small but nonetheless a positive for organisers.
"It was really good. The weather plays a big part in that," Mr Bowles said.
"While it was a tad warm at times there was terrific attendance on both evenings - it's a real positive."
Mr Bowles said the show's family-friendly atmosphere was a big draw card.
"We noticed that there were a lot of families which is great. We aim to make the show as family-oriented and safe as possible," he said.
"The monster truck show was great and all the rides, we like to make sure there are attractions for all ages."
Mr Bowles said the show attracted people not only from central Victoria but interstate as well.
"Some of our judges were from interstate, the horse judges were from South Australia and we had one from New South Wales - which was good," he said.
Mr Bowles said an exact crowd number would be determined in the coming months. He said preparation for next year's event would start in early 2015.
