Sunscreen was a must and smiles were a many, as people came from far and wide to enjoy all the show could offer.
While the rides and showbags proved popular as always, the agricultural aspect of the show occupied the interests of many.
Among those were Bendigo's Monique and Barry Floyd and their two children Estella, 9, and Loti, 8.
"We come each year to see the animals," Ms Floyd said.
"The kids really love them. We tend to avoid the rides."
Estella said she liked the cats the best because they were cute.
Marion Williamson, from Melton, spent the day in Bendigo wandering through the many pavilions filled with cats, poultry and other animals.
In most of the cities it has just become all about the rides. That's why I like the Bendigo Agricultural Show.

She said the Bendigo Agricultural Show, unlike others, was special because it still had an agriculture focus.
"I really like the animals. I think they are important," she said.
"Originally that is what the show is about. In most of the cities it has just become all about the rides. That's why I like the Bendigo Agricultural Show."
Heathcote's Sharon Koukouzas entered three miniature horses into Saturday's competition.
One of her horses, Rocky, won champion in the miniature gelding category.
"It's a great show, very local for us," Ms Koukouzas said.
"And there is lots for the kids to do, they love the attractions. There is something for everyone.
"We like to buy a members pass so we get access to both days for $40, it's good value."
