The newly-married couple, who were contestants of The Block Glasshouse, are encouraging as many people as possible to muster up the courage to enter.
"It can sometimes be very intimidating but it's really great when they make the effort," Max said.
"I will be looking out for people who go all out with colour - all the colours of the rainbow - punchy and fresh.
"We are coming into summer and the races are lots of fun, lets make the outfits fun too."
The Myer Fashions on the Field includes four categories - Myer Lady of the Day, Myer Local Lady of the Day, Myer Man of the Day and the Myer Millinery Award.
Karstan said blue and grey were the on trend colours of the season for men.
"I also love a good shoe, a nice leather shoe," he said.
Karstan said while he would be judging the fashion, he would also consider people's personalities.
"If they are grumpy and not having a good time that's not fun," Karstan said.
Max said millinery was important, especially when it came to choosing between a hat or fascinator.
"It depends what outfit you wear and the dress. If you wear something a bit simplistic then it is okay to go out there, big and bold," Max said.
"But if your outfit is bright and bold, then it's best to tame the millinery back."
Myer Bendigo manager Shane Asbury said the store had experienced a strong trade period in the lead up to the Bendigo Jayco Cup.
"It's a very exciting period for Myer as we are heavily involved in the Spring Racing Carnival," he said.
The Bendigo Jayco Cup is on October 29 at the Bendigo Jockey Club. Gates open at 10.30am. Registrations for Myer Fashions on the Field can be made on the day.
