CROWDS will start flowing through the gates of the showgrounds on Friday for the annual Bendigo Show.
An enormous array of amusements from arts and crafts, to animals, to hair-raising rides are gearing up for a busy two days of fun and excitement.
The Bendigo Advertiser tested a couple of the rides on Thursday just to see what the community might expect.
It's safe to say, it was lucky lunch had been put off until after the rides.
Owner and operator of the 'Space Roller' ride, Russell Watkins, said his ride often had a polarising effect on patrons.
Mr Watkins said some people love it, while others finish the ride saying they would never do it again.
He said the Space Roller took several days just to set up and his family does it over and over again at shows across the country.
The Bendigo Advertiser suggests people with a desire to spin around uncontrollably for five minutes would be well suited to the experience. All others should steer clear.
The showbag section is a more sedate, grounded way to enjoy the show.
Greg Anderson from the showbag section owns company Bensons Showbags which tours the country going to shows from Darwin to Hobart.
Mr Anderson, 46, has been to the Bendigo Show every year since he was 13.
He said Australia was the only country in the world with showbags.
He said the system for showbags has been formalised a lot since he was a boy. In the old days, he could put anything he wanted in a showbag, but now everything must be signed off by the large confectionary companies.
The monster trucks are another attraction set to be a popular attraction at the show this year.
"I've got two young sons so they think it's pretty cool," monster truck driver Mark Gilbert said.
"There's a few old cars ready in the main arena to be run over by the trucks," he said.
He said jumps and "sky wheelies" are on the menu during the shows and members of the public could pay to ride on the trucks.
"It's the only opportunity that the public will get to see monster trucks in the coming months. There's no other shows as such," he said.
