Athletes from the region collected more than 30 medals in sprints, middle distance, running, throwing, jumping and race walking events at Lakeside stadium in Albert Park last Friday.
Weeroona College pupil Iliesa Sevudredre flew over the hurdles, winning the under-16 boys race by more than a second and adding to the gold medal he won in the event at last year's carnival.
Christopher Browne, from Catholic College Bendigo, performed strongly in the under-16 throws to bring home gold in the shot put and bronze in discus.
Kyabram’s Carlie Whitford, who competes locally for Eaglehawk, dominated the under-20 jumps to finish with gold in long and triple and bronze in high jump.
Young CCB runner Luke Padgham continued a stellar 12 months that has seen him represent Victoria on several occasions, taking out the under-13 800m.
And multi-talented Crusoe student Cooper Saunders, who has also played football for his state, cleaned up in the under-13 triple jump.
Distance runner Kye Jenkyn and the versatile Connor Cudmore earned two podium placings.
