Bruce has been using the knowledge and skills he has learnt to help the community.
He says he has two main roles at Rotary.
Bruce is the editor of the club's weekly bulletin and is a certified food handler, who liaises with the Bendigo Health inspector and makes sure that the club keeps everything safe.
He says Rotary helps anyone who needs help, including assisting those affected by bushfires, house painting for the elderly, garden restoration, supplying firewood to families and fundraising to repair the Bendigo observation tower.
“We will put our hands into anything,"Bruce says.
The club is making a difference outside the region, helping build a kitchen in East Timor and with the cyclone repairs in Samoa.
Bruce believes that anyone who wants to start volunteer work should really give it a go.
“There are always people to help you out and organisations are always looking for people and to help out,"he says.
