Geary is a former Bendigo Pioneer who won the Neville Strauch Memorial club champion award back-to-back in 2008-09 and was also named in the club’s 21-year Best of the Best team.
Since leaving the Pioneers, Geary, 23, has spent time at VFL club Sandringham, and Queensland clubs Southport and Broadbeach.
He has also played state representative football in Queensland.
Kallen’s older brothers, Shannon and Daniel, were both members of the Storm’s inaugural BFL premiership team this year, with Shannon skippering the side.
“Kallen is returning to Bendigo and he’s very keen to play with his brothers, so it all fell into place for us,” Storm coach Darryl Wilson said on Wednesday.
“We’re looking forward to having that state level experience he brings and I know the three Geary boys are all excited about playing together... you don’t see three brothers in the same team too often.
“You’d envisage him playing a midfield/running back role and he will provide us with some leg speed. He has been in the leadership group in every club he has been at, so it’s a great signing for us.”
Geary played this year at the Gold Coast-based Southport Sharks in the NEAFL, being named in their best players in six of their 18 games.
He was also a member of the NEAFL representative team that was belted by the WAFL in their interstate match in May.
