But for soon-to-be married couple Jess McLennan and Corey Jones, a surprise wedding organised by the children attending the kindergarten was the perfect dry run for their big day this Friday.
The children and staff dressed in veils and bowties for the mock ceremony in the kindergarten garden.
The surprised bride wore red sandshoes and a white dress as she exchanged I do’s with her beau.
The groom dressed for the occasion, wearing a suit jacket, shorts and work boots.
After much deliberation as to which finger they were to be placed on, rings were exchanged before the groom sealed the deal with a kiss on the cheek.
The children ensured the day was one to remember, providing cupcakes and entertainment for the couple at the ‘reception’ that followed.
Ms McLennan said their efforts would be long remembered.
“It was a very big surprise, I didn’t actually know until I got into kinder … and some of the kids started talking about it,'' she said.
