VILLAWOOD Properties has rolled out the welcome mat at its Imagine Strathfieldsaye display village.
Hundreds of people attended a community open day on Saturday, embracing the healthy communities theme.
Four-hours of family-themed fun included free fairy floss, barbecue food, face painting, jumping castles, music and even a magician.
Villawood regional general manager Julian Perez said the event was a chance to thank and promote the estate’s building companies and community.
“There’s a lot of people come out and have a look around,"he said.
“We are trying to promote healthy communities and walkable communities.
“Villawood are very community-based and we do like to get involved with the local footy side, Rotary and the local businesses and we like to promote the schools and a healthy way to live.”
Mr Perez said 50 of about a potential 80 blocks had been sold, with the estate’s first residents scheduled to move in next month.
Three generations of the McEniry family were among the crowd, including Tony, his son Simon and grandchildren Chloe, Joel and Ryan.”
They are proud to have one of the estate’s street named in their honour.
“Julian asked me one day if I knew of any old identities from the area for some names for the streets, so I thought I’d put my hand up and it’s come to be,” Tony McEniry said.
"Ï slash all the grass here for Julian – I do that about every 10 days – and really enjoy it.
“It’s a fantastic sub-division and I’m really proud to be associated with it."
