About 170 outfits from collections found at local retailers were paraded in front of 400 guests for the Bendigo Fashion Festival parade.
The spring collections from major retailers featured prominently, but there were also items from the unique array of Bendigo boutique fashion outlets.
Creative director Penny Holloway said the show provided an opportunity for people to see the possibilities of shopping local.
"The main message was to show people what's in stock and that you don't always have to travel to Melbourne," she said.
"This season seems to be all white, there is lots of white in the major retailers.
"I also notice everything is getting sleeveless and shorter."
Cheers went up throughout the hall as friends and family walked down the centre catwalk. All of the models were from Bendigo, each given their own shot at the catwalk experience.
Youngsters walked hand-in-hand in front of the flashing lights of waiting papparazzi to show off junior fashions. Bendigo Senior Secondary College students also had the chance to show off their creations.
Thirty-five stores took part, each showing five outfits.
