FORMER Bendigo Pioneer Ariel Steinberg has won the Essendon Football Club’s VFL best and fairest award.

Drafted to the Bombers in 2010, Steinberg won the RA Freeman award at the club’s presentation night on Wednesday.
Steinberg played 16 games in the VFL this season and was named the best on eight occasions.
The 20-year-old also played three games with the senior side in 2014.
