A burn off at a Bridgewater-Raywood Road property escaped into nearby vineyards, causing this afternoon's fire, Inglewood Fire Brigade captain Brian Rodwell says.
The fire burnt just over two acres of vineyard at a property north of Water Wheel Vineyards at Bridgewater North.
Mr Rodwell said calm conditions helped brigades quickly control the fire.
"It was burning towards the road, but the wind was pretty calm," he said.
"If the wind was stronger it could have got out of hand."
Three units attended at 2.15pm and contained the fire at 2.30pm.
