Mr Silvester will talk about the Melbourne underworld, Underbelly series and his popular Age column Naked City.
Mr Perna will address the present state of the horse racing industry and his former career in the Victoria Police force.
Radio 3AW general manager Shane Healy will host the Spring Racing Carnival evening in Silks Function Room with all proceeds going to the Sidney Myer Haven project.
''The spring racing activities are very much community events with an opportunity to interact socially and the Gallic Club is one of several ways the Bendigo Jockey Club contributes to the local community,” said Bendigo Jockey Club chief executive officer Ian Hart.
''We are delighted to be able to partner with Haven which does such great work in our community for those in need and at the same time celebrate the spring racing carnival through the Gallic Club forum. Both John and Sal are excellent speakers and we think a great night is in store for those that attend.''
Mr Hart said tickets for the event cost $90 for a three-course dinner and drinks or $850 for a table of 10.
He said people should contact the Bendigo Jockey Club on 5448 4209 to book.
Haven Home Safe spokesperson Sue Masters said the Sidney Myer Haven project was designed to assist disadvantaged youth in the community.
''This special event will assist with the overall funding objectives. I urge businesses and individuals to get behind this function which should prove to be hugely entertaining while also promoting a great cause,'' she said.
