Playing at Victoria Golf Club, Bendigo began its tournament with a 4.5-all draw with Peninsula.
After drawing its first game, Bendigo proved too strong for Corangamite in its second battle, winning 5-4.
After day one, Bendigo sits in second position on the ladder behind West Gippsland.
Country Week continues at the Keysborough Golf Club on Thursday, with Bendigo to take on Ballarat from 7.30am and West Gippsland from 1pm.
