But while Charlie is loving life, if it wasn't for the Pet Medical Crisis Fund - a charity for pet owners on low incomes - Charlie's prospects would not be so bright.
Charlie had a dramatic brush with death last Sunday when he was hit by a car.
Luckily for Charlie, a Good Samaritan witnessed the incident and rushed to Charlie's aid, taking the feline - who was struggling to breath - to Passionate Vetcare.
The clinic gave Charlie pain relief medication, conducted chest x-rays and examined his back, left leg, which needed to be amputated.
Unfortunately Charlie's owner, Vanessa Webster, couldn't afford the $1500 vet fees, and without the money Charlie would have to be euthanised.
But thankfully for Vanessa, the Pet Medical Crisis Fund stepped up to the plate and paid the reduced $1000 fee. Charlie is now back to his feisty self.
