For that’s how many senior flags in a row those three powerful central Victorian football clubs have now combined for as their remarkable dynasties reaped more premiership success in 2014 in the Loddon Valley, Heathcote District and North Central football leagues.
One flag is hard enough to win, backing it up the year after with a target on your back every week is even harder, but for these three clubs to have achieved the ultimate success at least four years in a row has been phenomenal.
In the case of Bridgewater, it’s five LVFL flags in a row, while the Cats (HDFL) and Redbacks (NCFL) are both now at four on the trot.
With the Mean Machine, Cats and Redbacks all in different leagues, we can’t see them face off against each other – perhaps there’s scope for some sort of practice match series next pre-season between the three – but in the meantime, here’s how their numbers compare through their premiership years.
