The now president of the Bendigo arm joined in 1996 with her father - a member of the RAAF who fought in WWII.
She said the organisation, entirely volunteer run, was integral to the community.
"Legacy looks after the dependence of veterans who have served overseas and have since returned with ill health or made the supreme sacrifice," she said.
Ms Perry said the Bendigo arm of the organisation had about 55 volunteers.
"We don't do it for ourselves. We do it for Legacy," she said.
"It's like any other organisation, the volunteers are very passionate about what they do."
Ms Perry said volunteers sold merchandise and held a tin rattle during Legacy Week in early September.
She said the community was very generous with their donations.
"One of the unique parts of Legacy is all the money raised in Bendigo stays in Bendigo," she said.
Ms Perry said people wishing to volunteer with the organisation should contact Legacy House on 5443 6332.
