Phil Pickard is a 32-year-old American, who loves the Detroit Lions.
Through the NAB Footify Fansplant initiative, Phil traveled across the world to learn about Australia's greatest game.
The Kyneton family of Lou, Carl, Sebastian, 10, and Oliver, 8, welcomed the passionate fan into their home, teaching him everything about AFL and the Australian culture.
Lou said her family had a fun two weeks with Phil.
"It was a lot of fun," she said.
"We went to the airport not knowing who will be coming with us and we got Phil.
"We all had a great time teaching him about AFL and he also brought the kids some things from his favourite NFL team."
Carl, who is the coach of the under-9 and under-10 Kyneton Tigers, put Phil through his paces in several training sessions.
Phil also gave the footy young guns an inspirational speech ahead of their big game.
"It took a while for him to get used to the Aussie way but he enjoyed it," Lou said.
"The kids were just laughing at him."
Phil had a whirlwind AFL experience, watching a game at Etihad Stadium and meeting Hawthorn star Sam Mitchell and St Kilda assistant coach Peta Searle.
"He loved the game and all the screaming," Lou said.
"Phil is now a Hawks fan after Sam Mitchell, he is following the game from America now.
"We keep in contact with him."
He also learnt how to make a meat pie at Kyneton's Country Cob Bakery.
The Morris family have now won four tickets to the AFL grand final between Sydney and Hawthorn on Saturday.
Lou, who is a Hawks fan, said her family was looking forward to the big game.
Footy fans now get a chance to win a trip overseas thanks to the Footify Fansplant campaign.
