The largest boxing session ever held was 498 people on Sydney's famous Bondi Beach.

So, 499 people will do the trick for Bendigo to take their world title belt.

The organisers are making a pretty good fist of their campaign with 400 confirmed starters as of late Friday. They have the gloves ready, so let's hope they can find at least the other 99 people they need to break the record. The more the merrier, of course.

It should be noted this group isn't trying to break this world record for fun - it's actually part of a fundraiser for the worthy event Ride To Conquer Cancer.

Anything that raises awareness and funds for cancer research is a worthy event.

Having a place in the world record books would be pretty impressive I reckon.

Growing up I couldn't wait for the Guinness World Records each year.

That famous book celebrates 60 years in 2015 - that's a lot of very tall, very small, very talented, very weird, very brave, very determined people and animals.

Most soda cans opened by a parrot - Zac. Not worth a cracker that one Zac.

Most Bhut Jolokia chilli peppers eaten in two minutes - Jason McNabb. Mmmmm.... suggest that might have had repercussions, hey Jason? What was that famous Johnny Cash song? I fell down into a burning.... yep, that's it.

It's always amazing me how people come up with such things. I mean, was Jason McNabb just sitting around one day and decided to pepper himself with pain?

How did Nancy Siefker actually work out she could shoot an arrow using her feet?

How many times did Michael Jenkins scoff down a litre of lemon juice before he worked out he was on world record pace?

Good on them all, I say. They deserve their 15 minutes of fame for such feats and no doubt Guinness World Records will be happy to see them and many others continue to outdo each other into the future.
