Both said strong winds would make their task from chasing the outmarkers a lot easier.
"The course is not one of the most difficult, but any wind blowing across the roads will be a massive plus for us," Crome said.
The Eaglehawk to Pyramid Hill is another crucial hit-out as both build-up for some of the bigger road classics such as the Melbourne to Warrnambool.
Crome will be racing with the Charter-Mason line-up, which is a development group with Drapac Cycling, in the Tour of Tasmania from September 30.
Last March, Crome teamed with Dutchman Roy Pieters to win the McCaig Airconditioning-backed Bendigo International Madison track classic.
"It's been the biggest win of my career, but I'm looking for more," said Crome.
The Eaglehawk to Pyramid Hill is a race within a race as scratch riders vie for fastest time honours. Sunday's race starts at 9.30am.
