The tournament, which starts on September 29, caps off a very successful season for the talented Junior Braves squad.
They qualified for Queensland by taking out division one of the Victorian country championships in in Bendigo in April.
The girls also finished in the top 10 at the National Junior Classic in Melbourne and have been playing in the elite championship division of the Victorian Junior Basketball League throughout 2014.
Competing against some of the state’s powerhouse association - including Bulleen, Dandenong, Knox and Melbourne - the Bendigo young guns finished seventh on the ladder and lost their elimination final to Latrobe City by the narrowest of margins, 50-51.
Coach Jonathan Goodman said his squad was a fantastic group of players who had been working hard to prepare for the national club championships.
“We have girls like Danielle O’Toole, Ruby Barkmeyer, Taylah Lindrea, Emmie Banfield and Kate Douglass, who are all very strong,” he said.
“But all the girls have, at some stage, been great for us and they are extremely competitive at national level.
“It is exciting for the club to have a team going to nationals and we are hoping to make the top four or five.”
Goodman said the Junior Braves program aimed to have both girls and boys qualify for the championships next season.
