A MARYBOROUGH man was airlifted to the Alfred on Thursday morning after the vehicle he was driving ran off the road and collided with a concrete power pole just south of Maryborough.

Maryborough police Acting Sergeant Nicole Harrison said the 41-year-old was driving a Mitsubishi Pajero on McCallum Creek Road at Red Lion about 3am.
She said the man, the sole occupant of the vehicle, suffered serious injuries.
An Ambulance Victoria media spokesman said the man sustained injuries to his neck and chest, and was flown in a serious but stable condition.
Acting Sergeant Harrison said the cause of the crash would be investigated.
Officers from Maryborough attended the incident.
