The new award rewards high achievers in Australia and New Zealand’s adventure tourism industry.
Prizes are awarded based on votes from the public, so staff are asking Bendigonians to go online and 'vote one' for Central Deborah Gold Mine.
Sales and marketing manager Evonne Oxenham said the award was an opportunity get Bendigo's name onto the national tourism stage.
"The Central Deborah Gold Mine is quite a unique destination and Australia has a very strong gold mining past," Ms Oxenham said.
She said no other Australian mine took tourists 228 metres underground.
"More and more people are hearing about it and coming to Bendigo, we're getting great feedback."
