Two Girton Grammar teams won their sections at the state Tournament of Minds problem-solving competition in Melbourne.
The secondary applied technology team and primary maths-engineering group earned the right to represent Victoria at the Australasian Pacific final in Bundoora from October 16-18.
Two other Girton teams and one from Echuca East Primary were awarded honourable mentions.
Girton ToM co-ordinator Viv Bath said students spent three hours working together to solve a complex problem and a spontaneous question.
"They are incredibly creative and showed strong teamwork to produce such impressive results," she said. "We are very proud of them."
The winners were: Primary: Xavier Maruff, Ingrid Hocking, Serryn Eenjes, Ava Ueno, Ellen Anthony, Flynn Edwards and Ella Fletcher. Secondary: Jack Edwards, Alexi Ginis, Michaela Hulme, Alex Nielsen, Alex O’Shea, Ishira Dayananda and Hannah Holmes.
