It would have been wrong to see a star of the game missing a match as important as a preliminary final for the incident involving Joel Selwood in last Friday night's MCG clash.
Harvey was silly in putting himself in such a position but the reality is this incident wasn't serious enough to warrant a week.

The trouble with that statement is players have been suspended for exactly the same thing through the season with Fremantle's Nathan Fyffe the highest profile case.
Other players have done worse things on the field and not even been reported.
The AFL should be commended for making moves to protect the head of players but this rule involving incidental head contact is just too confusing to police.
Footy fans have had enough of the inconsistent nature of tribunal decisions.
We need a set of rules that are easy to police and leave players, coaches and most important of all the fans clear on what's acceptable and what's not.
Something for the AFL to ponder in the off season.
