THE Scots Baseball Club has won the 2014 A-grade BBA premiership in dramatic style, beating the Falcons Baseball Club in the first two games of the best of three finals series.

The 9 to 8 win broke the Falcons Baseball Clubs 14 year streak in the A-grade competition and is the Scots' first title since 1987.
Game two of the grand final, at Ken Wust Oval, was the closest and most dramatic games in recent memory.
The game started on September 7, after the Scots had won the first game the week earlier, but it didn’t go for the scheduled two hours.
It went for almost five hours split over two weekends, due to the lack of light in the first week.
Play resumed at the top of the 10th inning on Sunday, with either team needing to outscore the other in a single inning to claim the win.
The Falcons took the lead in the second inning of the day with two runs before the Scots dug deep also scoring two runs to stay in the game.
Young gun Lachlan Jack lead off the inning with a base hit before stealing to second base and then scoring on a John Taylor double.
Taylor would then score on an Ash Wilkie steal a few batters later after Scots catcher Sean Meldrum drew the two out walk.
Star pitcher Aaron Petri then took to the pitching mound for what would be his last innings on the hill after pitching a superb 12 innings over two weekends.
The bottom of the 12th saw David Moloney get himself on base with a one out single to centre field before getting himself to third base.
Glenn Farrell then came up to bat and finally got the hit that Scots had been waiting, he hit the winning run, sparking celebrations from the team and its supporters.
In the B-grade championship, Bendigo East were crowned the champions, defeating the Falcons.
Bendigo East won the first game 15 to 14 and the second 21 to 8.
It was their first senior premiership in any division since 2007.
The Scots won the C-grade premiership, defeating the Falcons, in the second of the best of three finals games on Sunday.
The Falcons took an early lead in the second innings before the Scots hit form, scoring 11 runs in the fourth innings.
The Scots ended up having a convincing 15 to 5 win, claiming the BBA championship.
