If a team is on a roll then the opposition has to work even harder to get back into the contest.
Belief and hunger to keep their dream alive is a key part on how teams can fight back.
At the moment, Golden Square's netballers are on a high and will head into the Bendigo Football Netball League A-grade final full of confidence.
The Bulldogs have won three straight finals and will have the momentum heading into the decider.
They knocked out Maryborough in the first week, defeated a dangerous Kyneton outfit the second week and had an impressive win against the reigning premiers Gisborne on Saturday night.
Golden Square led from start to finish against Gisborne.
They had a plan, went on court and executed it to perfection.
Their dream of winning the premiership is now a reality, they will have to play 60 minutes of pressure netball to achieve the goal of holding that trophy at the end of the day.
Star defender Meg Gilbert has said the team was pumped and ready to fire in the grand final.
"We are going in as underdogs, but we have been really gelling together over the past couple of weeks," she said.
"I think we will go into the game with some really good momentum."
They will face a hungry and determined Kangaroo Flat team, which is aiming to avenge its grand final loss from last year.
The Roos have a mighty team and will be tough to beat.
This season Kangaroo Flat has won both of its games against Golden Square. The first was back in round two and the second win in round 12.
The Roos won comfortably back in round 12, but a lot has changed since then.
Golden Square, the dark horse this season, has seemed to have found another gear.
However, Kangaroo Flat was the best team in the home and away series, losing one game and scoring one draw.
I have no doubt Janelle Hobbs will have her team primed and ready to go for Saturday's game.
The Roos will be fresh and up for the challenge but it won't be a walkover.
It will be a tough battle, both teams want to win and have the talent to do so.

The game could be won and lost in defence.
Square duo Allira Holmes and Gilbert will go head-to-head with Nina Cass and Rachel Mackenzie.
While Roos defenders, led by captain Alicia McGlashan (pictured) and Monica Wellington will have to be on their game if they are to win.
Intercepts and defensive rebounds will be crucial.
It should be a great game, I am looking forward to it.
I am tipping a Kangaroo Flat win.
