The City of Greater Bendigo officially launched the Uniquely Bendigo website on Saturday with a market day at the visitor centre on Pall Mall.
Food products, art, homewares and books are among those to be highlighted to the world on the website.
Visitor services manager Nicole Pretty said the idea was to bring the unique variety of produce of central Victoria together in one place.
"Our main criteria is that is has to be high quality, made in the region, appealing to visitors and pass our health and safety regulations," she said.
The site featured a number of small, fledgling enterprises springing up in the region, including Rosemary Cimino's Spotted Dog Fudge of Woodend.
She said being listed on the website could be a major stepping stone for her business.
"You have to have an online presence these days to be a success," she said.
Her 23 flavours of fudge were on display at the visitor centre, along with a range of other local wares.
Rosie Bennett, who runs her Rosie Bee's jams and preserves business from her Strathfieldsaye home, said she always wanted to have an online presence, but the cost had been a barrier
"It's great for getting the word out and promoting the product," she said.
"All of the berries are from just out of Castlemaine. I also do all of the work in my own home."
Watercolour artist Terry Jarvis also had his skills on display at the opening as he completed another famous Bendigo landscape. A number of pieces also feature on the website.
City of Greater Bendigo councillors attended the launch, where they browsed the website to see which businesses were featured.
City tourism manager Kathryn Mackenzie said the idea had "enormous potential".
"This is about linking with small business providers and supporting local artisans to showcase the best of our locally produced goods," she said.
