Daniel and Whitney are both police officers and met when working together at the same station.
They got to know each other and quickly became good friends. Daniel eventually built up the courage to ask Whitney out on a date and their relationship progressed from there.
The proposal
Daniel took Whitney away to the Kudos Villas in Hepburn Springs on a surprise get away for their third year anniversary.
While they were out for dinner, Daniel organised for their villa to be decorated with candles, roses and champagne.
When they arrived home from dinner, he got down on one knee and proposed with a ring he had had designed and made.
“I had no idea he was going to propose because he was so cool, calm and collected all day leading up to it!”
The wedding day
It was a beautiful 36 degree February day at the Emu Bottom Homestead in Sunbury. Whitney told Daniel she had always wanted a rustic style wedding and once they were engaged Daniel knew Emu Bottom Homestead was exactly what she wanted. And it was. “As soon as I walked into their reception room called the Wool Shed I said, this is it!”
The ceremony was held in the garden on the property with 100 of their favourite people.
The guests enjoyed pre-dinner drinks and canapés in the garden while the wedding party had their photos taken on the property followed by a cocktail style reception.
The dress
Whitney wore a dress designed by Martina Liana and was purchased from Fairytales Bridal Boutique in Moonee Ponds.
The dress was ivory and made from Parisian silk. It featured Swarovski crystal and diamante details throughout the hand-embroidered bodice and the textured skirt.
Whitney had a shoulder strap designed by Millie Icaro who she found through Etsy and had it attached to her dress.
The cake
Was created by Whitney’s aunty and was made up of three tiers each with a different flavour cake.
The photography
The photos were taken by Leah Ladson Photography.
The honeymoon
The happy couple went to Hawaii.
