A vote separated Lake and Mount Pleasant’s Andrea Wilson after the final card was called on Sunday at Bendigo Club.
Lake polled 24 votes, Wilson ended on 23, with North Bendigo coach Tamara Gilchrist on 22.
The top five was rounded out by Mount Pleasant’s Ashleigh Cole 20, and Colbinabbin’s Olivia McEvoy on 17.
A product of the Bombers’ junior program, Lake did play some seasons in Queensland, at Barooga and Pyramid Hill.
She returned to Leitchville-Gunbower this season.
“It means a lot to be playing in a team coached by Samantha Drover,” she said after being presented with the medal.
“Samantha is more than the coach, she is a great friend.”
The latest league medallist said the standard in the league keeps getting better.
“I have been playing 20 years, but have not won a premiership yet.
“I will keep on trying.”
